Albert Sailing Club’s winter sailing season continues on saturday 7 July with Race 6 in our 8 race Winter Series starting at 2pm. The Sabre Association will be visiting for another Winter Travellers series race. Club Oz Optis, Pacers and single handed training boats will be available for newer members to use from 10am.

Our next big event is the 2012 Australian Schools Teams Championships being hosted by Albert Sailing Club from Thursday 12th to Sunday 15th July. Twenty two schools teams from all Australian states and the ACT will be competing in many short sharp teams races of usually less than ten minutes. They will be sailing in Pacers provided by Yachting Victoria in the area directly in front of Albert Sailing Club.The finals will be on the afternoon of Sunday 15th. A Wintersail Coaching Regatta is being conducted for junior sailors by Albert Park Yacht Club from 13th to 15th July with details and entry forms at http://www.apyc.org.au/wintersail.html
Albert Sailing Club’s Annual Winter Regatta was sailed on saturday 23rd June and Sunday 24th June. Many good photos were taken by Rob Cruse across the weekend featuring most competitors. On sunday 8 July from 11am to 3pm the Hartley TS16 (trailable) class association will have a display of boats in the gravel area between ASC and YV’s Boatshed. Details at www.vic.yachting.org.au/default.asp?Page=60771 . The Boating Industry of Victoria also has its annual Boat Show at the Melbourne Convention Centre from Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 July.
