On saturday 8th September we sail th third and final week of the Bill Hooper Series, with the first race start at 2pm, and 1.15pm information session. The Hooper Series has a a short course format, with a number or short races each week.
The September issue of the Club’s Mudpuddler Newsletter goes to the printer on the weekend and will be posted out in mid September. It will include details of ASC’s Spring Events and activities. One to mention is the Spring Working Bee Saturday 22nd September all day, Sunday 23rd am. No club sailing that weekend. The focus of attention will be on maintenance of club powerboats (Ariel II start boat, and RIBs), and sailboats (Status’s and training boats). We will need paint scrapers for bottom of Ariel II, and 3 or 4 people with wetsuit gear to clean bottom of Status’s. From 9am both days. Ideally place your name on the listing on the noticeboard in the club foyer or alternatively turn up when you can on the day.
Our next 8week Discover Sailing Learn to Sail program is on saturday mornings commencing on 6 October. Details are on our club foyer noticeboard and the club website www.albertsc.org.au
The September general committee meeting was held on tuesday 4th September in our ASC clubrooms at 7.30pm. There was again a full agenda. There was a glowing thankyou letter from Sorrento Sailing Club thanking the club and its volunteers on behalf of their visiting members who sailed at Albert during the winter season. Quotes for a replacement heater and replacement hot water service were accepted and required installation work can now proceed. We are also reviewing our club cleaner arrangements. LEt the club secreatary or commodore know if you know of someone wh may be interested.
Final race in our winter season is a trophy race on saturday 15th.
