Thursday Snippets, 9 November

The weather looks perfect for sailing this weekend with mid 20’s both days and light to light/moderate winds both days. A full day of activities at Albert Sailing Club on Saturday 11th. Spring Series club race at 2.30, with junior green fleet in Ozi Optis from 1pm. In the morning there is week 2 of the Spring Learn to Sail program for adults and juniors. We also have a stand alone Intermediate training session for any members wanting to improve their skills, with a particular focus on tacking, gybing and sailing upwind. A number of club training boats are available for hire. Ideally register for Intermediate training online through https://albertsailingclub.wildapricot.org/

No organised ASC club activities on sunday 12th. If you are coming down to Albert Park Lake, there are some road closures in the Park and surrounding suburbs in the morning for the City to Sea Fun Run and Walk.

The weed cutter has been out on Albert Park Lake the last couple of weeks and is due to continue till later in the month. We have not been provided with a plan of areas of the Lake to be addressed. Earlier indications were that the northern part of the Lake would receive specific attention, and hopefully this is the case.

The October ASC general committee meeting will be held in our clubrooms on Tuesday 14th at 7.30pm. Members as always are most welcome to attend. Also the ASC Mudpuddler Newsletter is to be compiled later in the month. Prepare your contributions and send to Naomi through mudpuddler@albertsc.org.au
