Thursday Snippets, 26 April

On 28th April there is a club working bee from 9am – 12.30pm, with no afternoon club race. Monthly social sailing day on sunday 29th 10am – 4pm. Working bee with plenty of jobs to spruce the club up for winter season which commences Saturday 5th May. Boatyard to be tidied including sweeping and removing leaves. Some boat racks to be carpeted. Windows to be cleaned. Some cleanup and painting in changerooms. Etc. Come down to help even if only for a couple of hours.

ASC Winter season commences on Saturday 5th May with club race at 2pm, preceded by 1.15 information session. Also on 5th May there will be a session on Race Starting Procedures, Flags and Course Setting from 10.00am to 11.30am. Send an email to commodore@albertsc.org.au to register attendance or speak to a club committee member for more information. We need more people who can handle starts on our Start/Finish boat for club races and our annual regatta. Also more generally for members, particularly newer members, to understand how race starts and courses work.

On Saturday 12th May, there is ASC’s annual presentation of trophies for club races in 2017/18 at 5.30, followed by Annual General Meeting at 6pm and an informal meal in ASC clubrooms from 7pm. New committee members are needed to replace a number who are retiring. AGM agenda and committee nomination form has been emailed out, with copies available at club and on website. Again speak to a current committee member for more information about general committee roles or how you could assist in a non-committee role.

Winter season details and registration for members from other clubs now available on www.albertsc.org.au.
