This Saturday 31st of January, we start with a Better Sailing training session in the morning. Geoff will be at the club from 10:00am so you can rig a boat. There will be a short theory session before getting out on the water until approximately 12pm, with a debrief following over lunch.
We then head into our 3rd and final week of the Commodore Short Racing Series with 2-3 races starting at 2:30pm.
The water level in the lake has dropped in the last few weeks, so we might be sailing with partially raised centreboards whilst we patiently await the rain.
Upcoming Events:
On Saturday 14th of February, the annual “Top of the Bay Regatta” will be held at Altona Yacht Club. We are looking at forming a ASC/APYC team, please contact Rod via sailing@albertsc.org if you are interested. Visit our website for more details.
On Sunday 15th of February, we will be hosting a ‘Social Sailing Day’ from 10:30am – 3pm. There will be a BBQ available for lunch.
The ‘Hartley TS16 Australian Championships will be held at Largs Bay Sailing Club in Adelaide, February 1-7. ASC club members Michael and Anthony will be attempting to defend the title they won in 2025.
Notices:
An updated list of racking allocations in the boatyard is on the outdoor noticeboard above the ‘Sign On/Sign Off’ shelf. Masts for boats have been grouped together on top racks as per rack allocation listing. Please ensure that your mast has your boat and contact details on the base end and is stored in their allocated top rack.
There are road closures all around Albert Park at the moment due to the installation of the Grand Prix infrastructure. Best access to the club is currently via the steel gates off Albert Road.
Our Adult Learn to Sail courses are free to new club members, and a family membership covers 2 adults. The next available course will be held 14th of March – 11th of April, with registration closing on 3rd of March. Any enquiries to Geoff via training@albertsc.org.au.
