Thursday Snippets, 12 May

For the start of our Autumn series on 7th May it was great to see a fleet of 14 juniors from Sorrento and Albert out in Optimist class boats in the morning, with a few staying on to sail in our Autumn 1 club race. We look forward to the numbers of juniors increasing as the winter season progresses, and of course youth and adults from Albert and visiting clubs.

On Saturday 14th May, we have Autumn Series 2 club race iat 2pm, with Information session in clubrooms at 1.15. In the morning there is ASC ‘green fleet’ and Sorrento SCBC training groups from 10am.

After sailing on 14th we have a number of annual club activities to which all ASC members and the extended Albert family are invited. ASC’s Annual Trophy Presentation for the 2015/16 season is at 5.30. This is followed by the club’s Annual General Meeting at 6pm, with Commodore and Treasurer Reports and election of the 2016/17 general committee the main agenda items. Following the AGM there is a visit to nearby Cafe Rosco’s at 407d St Kilda Road (near corner with Toorak Road). Register intention to come to the Cafe on the sheet on Doug’s Bar in ASC clubrooms or email sailing@albertsc.org.au. $20 per head payable on the night for garlic/herb pizza bread starter, a pizza/pasta meal with drinks (wine and soft drinks) and tea/coffee. The pizza/pasta menu is on the front page of ASC website.
Option to pay extra for a different main meal, dessert, or other drinks.

Autumn Series and morning junior activities continue on Saturday 21st. Also the sunday afternoon Optimist class training program continues weekly.
