Come with your own team of 6 – 8 people, or join a team on the night.
On the first three Saturdays of September sail in ASC’s annual Bill Hooper Series. Usually good sailing as the weather warms up and Spring breezes occur more regularly
Our two club Status trailable boats need a Spring clean to make them presentable for prospective buyers. Help out with cleanup on Saturday 20th, and possibly 27th. No club racing on 27th due to Scouts Regatta on the Lake, with an am Working Bee listed in the cub program.
The Mudpuddler Editor needs articles, photos, quizzes and other items of interest by 26 August for the September Newsletter. Send your contribution to mudpuddler@albertsc.org.au
There are a couple of upcoming courses of interest.
Two first aid courses have been organised for ASC clubrooms on sunday 9 October. The first aider ‘Senior First Aid’ course involves a few hours of pre-work and a day of discussion and practice. The CPR course (Cardio Pulminary Resuscitation) is a half day morning program. Both courses are accredited and are to be delivered for a water sports environment. We need a number of ASC first aiders, and to encourage participation there will be a subsidised fee for ASC members. Some places available for others at a still good rate. A Responsible Serving Alcohol (RSA) course is being presented by Port Phillip Council on Monday 5th September 2016 6.30 to 10pm. ASC needs a few more people with RSA certification who can thus serve behind “Doug’s Bar”. This course is at no cost, and is normally $100 at a TAFE. Contact secretary@albertsc.org.au for booking details and further information.
