Saturday 29th October we have a club trophy race from 2.30pm. It should be a good day for sailing with the forecast for 24 degrees and gentle 5 to 10 knot winds. This is in stark contrast to the wild winds of the previous two Saturdays. If anyone wants to skipper or crew on a club Pacer send an email to sailing@albertsc.org.au. Other club training boats including junior Ozi Opti, Laser and Sabre boats available for hire.
On Wednesday 2nd November there is a non-competitive Midweek Sailing afternoon at Albert Sailing Club. Club members and visitors welcome. A few experienced club members will be sailing and will have the club open from 12.30 to 4pm. Option to bring your lunch to eat before sailing. This is part of a trial of casual midweek sailing on the first Wednesday of each month, with the next on 7 December. (Check Weather Forecast on day of Midweek sailing. Club will not open if there is a strong wind or gale warning for Port Phillip).
The 8 session Spring Learn to Sail course at ASC commences on sunday 6 November. Further information is on our club website, with expressions of interest for this or the February course being captured on the listing on the noticeboard in the club foyer.
The club’s Spring Series resumes on Saturday 5th November, with Spring Series 4. There will be a schools Athletics event at Lakeside stadium all day on the 5th. We need someone to place bollards out to mark reserved car spaces in period after 7pm on Friday 4th. If you could help out, send an email to Don via sailing@albertscs.org.au.
Have a good weekend.
