Thursday Snippets, 30 March

Sailing returns to the Lake after the F1 Grand Prix weekend. Summer Series 6 club race at 2.30 on Saturday 1st April, with Better Sailing group session in the morning from 10am. The club training boats are available for use and hire by members.
The RS Aero national championships and Skiff Regatta is being sailed at Black Rock Yacht Club on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd. There will be some fast sailing from a range of skiff classes if the winds get up. The largest fleet is in the RS Aero class with 25 entries, and Ron Fergusson from ASC is a strong chance for a good placing – go Ron !
Monday 4th to Wednesday 6th, ASC is conducting another junior school holiday program. Mainly green fleet level juniors in club Ozi Optis this time. Our open class juniors will be sailing in the Victorian Youth Championships coaching program at Royal Brighton YC. Adult members and friends are welcome to come down to ASC to lend a hand, go for a sail or watch the juniors learning and having fun. There will be a sausage sizzle lunch on Wednesday for the juniors, their parents and any ASC members who are down at the Lake.
On 8 April ASC is hosting week 1 of the two week Lake Challenge series for sailors from ASC , APYC and visitors. Short course format, with races from 2pm. Prizes for overall placegetters and class winners. Eats and drinks in ASC clubrooms after sailing.
