This Coming Weekend at ASC:

Saturday 7th of February, the club will open at 9:45am for our ‘Monthly Informal Race/Casual Sailing’. APYC members welcome.  Briefing and information session will be in our club rooms at 10:30am. Training boats are available for ASC members.
We will have a sausage sizzle available at lunchtime on the club deck, the galley will be closed.

Then, our Summer Championship series resumes with the race starting at 2:30pm. Sign on and briefing will be at ASC at 1:45pm.

The water level in the lake has dropped in the last few weeks, so we might be sailing with partially raised centreboards whilst we patiently await the rain.

Upcoming Events:

  • On Saturday 14th of February, the annual “Top of the Bay Regatta” will be held at Altona Yacht Club, with the race starting at 2pm. Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions can be accessed via this link (or the Altona Yacht Club Facebook page). We are looking at forming an ASC/APYC team, please contact Rod via sailing@albertsc.org if you are interested, or have entered via the link, so you can join the ASC/APYC team entry.
  • On Sunday 15th of February, we will be hosting a ‘Social Sailing Day’ from 10:30am – 3pm. There will be club training boats available and a BBQ for lunch. Club members, family and friends all welcome! This is also a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in potentially joining our club to come down and see what we are all about!

Notices:

  • There are road closures all around Albert Park at the moment due to the installation of the Grand Prix infrastructure. Best access to the club is currently via the steel gates off Albert Road.
  • Our Adult Learn to Sail courses are free to new club members, and a family membership covers 2 adults. The next available course will be held 14th of March – 11th of April, with registration closing on 3rd of March. Any enquiries to Geoff via training@albertsc.org.au.
