The Albert Sailing Club ‘Pop Up” Regatta scheduled for saturday 17 July will not proceed due to the 5 day lockdown restrictions for Victoria commencing midnight 15 July. This follows on from the cancellation of our two day “Top of the Lake” regatta scheduled for late June. The VIODA Winter Coaching Program session scheduled for Sunday 18 July will also not proceed.
Our intention is to re-commence the Albert Sailing Club winter season as soon as we can operate safely within Government restrictions and COVIDSafe requirements. Our winter season club races are programmed for each saturday afternoon at 2pm till late September, including a stand alone 3 week Bill Hooper memorial series from late August.
Thanks to all club members who attended the working bee last weekend. The clubhouse and yards looked welcoming, tidy and organised after the hard work done by those who attended. Thanks also to all those who volunteered to assist with the Regatta on Saturday. We were able to fill the roster with willing helpers which is a good indicator of the commitment our club members show towards showcasing our club and the benefits of winter sailing on the lake to the wider sailing community
Sailors from other sailing clubs are very welcome to sail with the Albert Sailing Club fleet in club races as a Visitor over the next couple of months. We will consider a “Pop Up’ Regatta later the year. You can keep up to date with ASC and its activities through our website www.albertsc.org,au and or Albert Sailing Club Facebook.
Keep safe and warm over the weekend and the Restriction days which follow.
