This week’s attachment is an oil painting of the gaff rigged schooner Patanella on approach to Heard Island  on the fringe of Antarctica. The painting is by Jack Woods, an ASC member who has been researching and painting pictures of sail boats, in particular classic boats, as a hobby for over 30 years.  Jack provides a synopsis of the Patanella’s trip to Heard Island and the mysterious disappearance of Patanella off the NSW coast in 1988 on  Patanela  If you have an interesting nautical theme painting or photo to share via Snippets send an email to me with attachment via vicecommodore@albertsc.org.au
