Thursday Snippets, 17 February


A busy couple of weeks ahead. Saturday 19th ASC club sailing day, with ASC/APYC race at 2.30.  
Saturday 26th February Albert Sailing Club will join in the Celebrations of 150 years of Albert Park Yacht Club and sailing on Albert Park Lake.
The 150th celebrations are for competitive and non-competitive dinghy sailors from Albert Park sailing clubs and visitors from other clubs and associations, and for non sailing spectators. The aim is for lunch to be taken and boats to be partially rigged in front of ASC and APYC clubrooms  by around 12.45. From 1pm there will be an Official welcome and proceedings  in and in front of APYC clubrooms, with the Victorian Governor in attendance and ASC to make a special presentation. Boats then launched at 2ish for a 2.30 Sailpast of the fleet. There is then a Ladies Bracelet Trophy Race at 3.00pm. Last saturday’s Top of the Bay Regatta at Altona attracted a fleet of 60 boats in ideal conditions. Our Lake sailors sailed well with Ron Fergusson winner of Division 3 and Jonathon Pulham from APYC and Paul Farrell from ASC first and second respectively in the large Division 5 fleet.
