Saturday 23rd club open from 10.30 with Spring Season Club Race from 2.30 and Information Session upstairs at APYC at 1.15. If there is a member not sailing on saturday who could do ‘RHIB jockey” at front of ASC 2nd RHIB on saturday afternoon, contact Rod via sailing@albertsc.org.au. Sunday 17th is week 3 of the Spring Learn to Sail course 9.30 to 4.30.
SAVE THE DATE for FESTIVE SEASON FUNCTION SATURDAY 14 DECEMBER, The catered meal and format will be similar to previous years’ popular events, with subsidised cost for members and partners. Lock this date into your diary now. More details and the booking link will be out in the next week or so.
Sad new of the recent passing of Ian “Wallie” Wall with tributes in the post of 11 November on https://www.facebook.com/AustSailVIC/ Ian was very active with Yachting Victoria in the 1980’s to 2020 ‘s managing YV’s Moblie Boat School, introduced sailing to tens of thousands of Victorian school students, training Sailing instructors and race management at many Victorian Regattas including on Albert Park Lake.
Albert Sailing Club is one of 42 sports clubs in the Albert Park Reserve managed by Parks Victoria.There is an active Albert Park Sports Club Association which meets every 2 to 3 months to hear and discuss updates from Parks Victoria, the Australian Grand Prix Corporation and the Association Executive and Clubs. ASC’s Commodore Greg and Rear Commodore Rod attend these meetings and raise issues effecting our club and Lake USers more generally. The Association has recently setup https://www.facebook.com/groups/albertparksportsclubs/ with posts on current and upcoming events and activities within the Albert Park Reserve,
