FESTIVE SEASON DINNER: BOOK NOW The club’s annual Festive Season Dinner will be on Saturday 14 December commencing at 6 p.m. Bookings are required no later than Dec 5th. Come along and enjoy a spit roast dinner, together with pre-dinner nibbles, salads, delicious desserts, vegetarian/gluten-free options, and some fun and frivolity. HALL HIRE: members please note that the hall has been hired for a private function of a club member on Saturday 7 December. There will therefore be no access upstairs after 5 p.m. on that day. Sailors and others, please ensure that you have collected all of your personal items from the galley/upstairs prior to that time.
SAIL MELBOURNE hosted by Royal Melbourne Yacht Club from 28 November to 2 December is for Olympic and Invited Off the Beach classes. This has been the largest Regatta for off the Beach classes in the Southern Hemisphere, with just over 200 entries this year. The class with by far the largest entry continues to be the ILCA (Laser) class with 85 entries from all Australian States and a few from overseas across ILCA4, ILCA6 and ILCA7 rigs. Albert Sailing Club’s Hamish Gilsenan is sailing in the strong ILCA7 fleet. The Olympic classes are scheduled to sail 2 or 3 races on all 4 days with warning signals at 1300. Invited classes including Optimist on the weekend. Courses are out in Port Phillip, with the best viewing for IQ Foil and Kite Foil classes from the Brighton beach South of Royal Brighton.
