* Annual Sail Melbourne Regatta for Olympic and invited off the beach classes at Royal Brighton from 28 November.

FESTIVE SEASON DINNER: BOOK NOW
The club’s annual Festive Season Dinner will be on Saturday 14 December commencing at 6 p.m. Bookings are required no later than Dec 5th. Come along and enjoy a spit roast dinner, together with pre-dinner nibbles, salads, delicious desserts, vegetarian/gluten-free options, and some fun and frivolity. HALL HIRE: members please note that the hall has been hired for a private function of a club member on Saturday 7 December. There will therefore be no access upstairs after 5 p.m. on that day. Sailors and others, please ensure that you have collected all of your personal items from the galley/upstairs prior to that time.
SAIL MELBOURNE hosted by Royal Melbourne Yacht Club from 28 November to 2 December is for Olympic and Invited Off the Beach classes. This has been the largest Regatta for off the Beach classes in the Southern Hemisphere, with just over 200 entries this year. The class with by far the largest entry continues to be the ILCA (Laser) class with 85 entries from all Australian States and a few from overseas across ILCA4, ILCA6 and ILCA7 rigs. Albert Sailing Club’s Hamish Gilsenan is sailing in the strong ILCA7 fleet. The Olympic classes are scheduled to sail 2 or 3 races on all 4 days with warning signals at 1300. Invited classes including Optimist on the weekend. Courses are out in Port Phillip, with the best viewing for IQ Foil and Kite Foil classes from the Brighton beach South of Royal Brighton. A busy first two weeks of December
* Last two Club Sailing Days for 2025 on saturday 7th (including morning informal race or casual sailing) and 14th December.
* Hall Hire for a private function from 5.30 pm on Saturday 7 December.
* Annual end of year Festive Season Dinner on saturday 14 December. Final bookings by sunday 8 December.
* December General committee meeting in ASC clubrooms on tuesday 9 December.
DECEMBER SAILING DAYS
7th December
– Morning informal race or casual sailing. Sail own boat or club training boat, with allocations on the day. Club open from 9.30. Information Session in clubrooms at 10.30 for 11.
– Also Mirror Class Association Training morning based at Albert Park Yacht Club with current State Champion Raf Heale . Registrations for MCAV session required by 7pm Thursday 5th (with payment) on MirrorsVic Facebook.
– Spring Series club race from 2.30, with Info Session at APYC at 1.45.
14th December
ASC run Trophy Race with format revealed on the day. Sign on at ASC by 1.15 for 1.45 Information Session. Casual sailing option. Any volunteers for RHIBs email Rod via training@albertsc.org.au

HALL HIRE: The club hall has been hired for an evening private function of a club member on Saturday 7 December. Sailors and others, order final drinks from Doug’s Bar and collect all of your personal items from the galley/upstairs by 5pm, and can stay on till 5.30.
BOATS FOR SALE including a wooden 125 family boat and a couple of wooden Sabres have been added onto the noticeboard near the downstairs Sign On/Sign Off area.
